ARRIVING IN BANGKOK

Bangkok is the capital of Thailand with two international airports: Suvarnabhumi International Airport and Don Muang Airport. You can commute from either airport to the vicinity surrounding the 19 Yenakart - Eatery & Garden—where the event will take place—by the Airport Rail Link (ARL), Bangkok Mass Transit System (BTS skytrain), Metropolitan Rapid Transit (MRT), SRT Red Line, metered taxi, or one of the Taxi App services; Grab or Bolt for a direct transit. 

Suvarnabhumi International Airport

Suvarnabhumi International Airport is Bangkok’s main and largest international airport, handling both long and short domestic and international flights.
  • Getting from Suvarnabhumi International Airport to 19 Yenakart - Eatery & Garden by public transportation
    Take the Airport Rail Link from Suvarnabhumi station to Makkasan station (5 stations or roughly 30 mins). Then, take a MRT from Phetchaburi station to Lumphini station (4 stations or roughly 10 minutes), which will cost approximately 100 THB (3-4 USD) in total. Take Exit no. 2, then walk to Sathorn 1 road and continue to Yenakart road (5 minute-taxi ride or 20-minute walk). You can find more information about Airport Rail Link routes and fares here.
  • Getting from Suvarnabhumi International Airport to 19 Yenakart - Eatery & Garden by taxi

    The airport is 35 km away from the 19 Yenakart - Eatery & Garden, so a taxi ride takes 30-40 minutes and costs 360-600 THB (10-20 USD). The taxi kiosk is located on the ground floor of the airport (one floor below Arrivals). Note that the passenger is required to pay any tollways fees (maximum 200 THB or 6 USD) on the way to Bangkok. You can also find  a Grab or Bolt taxi by downloading their respective apps.

Don Muang Airport

Don Muang Airport serves as a secondary hub for low-cost flights, serving both domestic and international destinations.

  • Getting from Don Muang Airport to 19 Yenakart - Eatery & Garden by public transportation There are 2 options:
    • Option 1 - Take an airport bus from the bus stop located outside the Arrival Hall at Terminal 1 (Gate 6) and Terminal 2 (Gate 12). Then, get on the A3 bus for a 1.5 hour-ride to Lumphini park. You can then take a taxi to 19 Yenakart - Eatery & Garden (5 minute-taxi ride or 20 minute-walk) for an approximate total cost of 100 THB (3 USD)
    • Option 2 - Take the SRT Red Line train at Terminal 2 from Don Mueang station to Bang Sue station (7 stations or roughly 20 minutes), then take the MRT from Bang Sue station to Lumphini station (14 stations or roughly 30 minutes). Take Exit no. 2, then walk to Sathorn 1 road and continue to Yenakart road (5 minute-taxi ride or 20 minute-walk). The overall cost of this option is approximately 77 THB (2 USD)
  • Getting from Don Muang Airport to 19 Yenakart - Eatery & Garden by taxi
  • The airport is located 25 km from 19 Yenakart - Eatery & Garden, so a taxi ride takes 30-40 minutes and costs 400-600 THB (16-20 USD). To find a metered taxi, join the queue at the taxi kiosk outside Terminal 1 and 2. Note that you are required to pay any tollways fees (maximum 200 THB or 6 USD) on the way to Bangkok. You can also find and book a Grab or Bolt taxi by downloading their respective apps.

GETTING AROUND IN BANGKOK

PUBLIC TRANSPORT
Bangkok offers various types of public transport including the Bangkok Mass Transit System (BTS skytrain), Metropolitan Rapid Transit (MRT), Airport Rail Link (ARL), express boats, buses and taxis.
MRT
The MRT can take you to many tourist attractions including the Grand Palace, Museum Siam, China Town and more. It operates from 6:00 a.m. - midnight daily. The price of MRT is also based on the distance and starts at 15 THB. It also includes escalators and elevators for accessibility. Find more information about MRT routes and fares here.
ARL
The ARL railway line connects central Bangkok with Suvarnabhumi International Airport. The trains operate between 5:30 a.m. – midnight daily. Bus
Most buses in Bangkok run between 5:00 a.m. - 23:00 p.m. Getting around by bus in Bangkok offers you a local experience and different sceneries of Bangkok. The bus fares range from 8 - 32 THB depending on the distance. You can also look for a destination and track a bus schedule by using the ViaBus App . Find more information about buses here
Chao Phraya Express Boat Service
The Chao Phraya Express stops at both sides of the Chao Phraya river. It operates from 6.00 a.m. - 7.00 p.m. daily. You can also change to a BTS skytrain at Saphan Taksin BTS station. The fare starts at 15 THB. Find more information about Chao Phraya Express Boats here
Khlong Boats - Saen Saep Boat Service
Khlong Boats operate daily from 5:30 a.m. - 8:30 p.m. on weekdays and from 5:30 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. on weekends. With Khlong Boats, you can change to a BTS skytrain at Ratchathewi BTS station or MRT at Phetburi MRT station. The fares start at 9 THB. Find more information about Khlong Boats here.
Taxi
Metered taxis can normally be flagged from the side of the road. Fares are calculated based on distance, starting from a 35 THB minimum. The driver should turn on the meter as soon as you get into the taxi. You can also find and book a taxi via Taxi Apps such as Grab or Bolt

GETTING THERE
  • On foot from 19 Yenakart - Eatery & Garden: When standing and facing 19 Yenakart - Eatery & Garden, walk 72 metres to your left and you will find WORKSHOP on your right, opposite of the Baan Siri Sathorn Condominium.
  • By MRT or BTS skytrain: If you take an MRT skytrain, get off at Lumpini or Klongtoey station. If you take a BTS skytrain, get off at Chong Nonsi station and take a taxi to get to WORKSHOP.
  • By taxi: Flag a metered taxi from the side of the road and ask the driver to take you to Yenakart Road (In Thai: Tha-non Yen-a-kart. ‘Tha-non’ means road). The WORKSHOP is located opposite the Baan Siri Sathorn Condominium.

The dress code of APAC Digital Identity unConference is business casual to casual, and we want you to feel your best. Please feel free to wear what you are most comfortable in for a working event.  

COVID SAFETY AND PRECAUTIONS

We welcome, but will not require masks!

In an effort to make our gathering as safe as possible—especially for those who are at high risk—and to remain mindful of the continually changing Covid landscape as we are entering a cooler and drier season in the region, these are the guidelines we will all follow at the APAC Digital Identity unConference in March 2023.
  • According to the Department Consular Affairs Ministry of Foreign Affairs, passengers travelling to Thailand will no longer be required to present COVID-19 related documents such as a certificate of vaccination and COVID-19 test results upon arrival. 
  • We encourage anyone who is high risk or is uncomfortable to bring and wear a mask!
  • If you have any question at all about your Covid status, even without symptoms, we ask that you test yourself before coming. 
  • We will have rapid tests available at the check-in desk for those experiencing cold symptoms or suspecting a positive result while at the workshop. We trust you’ll test yourself for the good health of the community.
